1917 film sam mendes PGA Awards

I PGA Awards hanno assegnato il premio per la migliore produzione cinematografica dell’anno a 1917, il film di Sam Mendes che, in questo modo, sembra opzionare seriamente anche il premio al miglior film ai prossimi Oscar.

In genere, i PGA sono un buon pronostico per i vincitori degli Oscar e negli ultimi due anni, sia Green Book che La Forma dell’Acqua hanno portato a casa sia il premio di categoria che l’Oscar più ambito.

Ringraziando la gilda per il premio ricevuto, Sam Mendes ha detto: “Grazie mille, Producers Guild. Questo film è stato ispirato da mio nonno, la mia speranza era rendere onore alla sua esperienza. Io rendo onore al lavoro di ogni singolo membro della troupe e del cast.”

Il premio nella categoria dedicata all’animazione è stato invece vinto da Toy Story 4, che potrebbe quindi tornare a casa anche con l’Oscar, con buona pace del delizioso Missing Link, di Laika, che ha vinto invece ai Golden Globes.
