Sono stati assegnati i DGA Awards 2018 dal sindacato dei registi hollywoodiani e, come previsto, Guillermo del Toro ha portato a casa il premio per la migliore regia di The Shape of Water.
Nella categoria miglior esordiente, Jordan Peele con l’ottimo Scappa – Get Out ha portato a casa il premio per la migliore opera prima, battendo Greta Gerwig e il veterano della sceneggiatura, Aaron Sorkin, alla sua prima volta dietro la macchina da presa con Molly’s Game.
I premi di sindacato sono una buona cartina di tornasole per valutare chi verrà premiato agli oscar 2018, il prossimo 4 Marzo. Dopo il Golden Globe e il DGA, il regista messicano ha adesso serie possibilità di portare a casa il Premio Oscar per la Migliore Regia.
