James Franco, in arrivo nelle sale con i titoli: Rise of the Apes e Your Highness, sarà il Mago di Oz per Sam Raimi nel prequel Oz, the Great and Powerful.
I due avevano già
collaborato insieme alla trilogia di Spider-Man, l’attore è scelto
per sostituire Robert Downey Jr. che aveva abbandonato il progetto.
Nel frattempo Raimi ha coinvolto nel film anche Mila Kunis, reduce
dalla sua buona performance ne Il cigno nero. Nel film interpreterà
una strega. La Kunis aveva già recitato con James Franco in Notte
folle a Manhattan.
