Il nuovo film è ambientato 22 anni dopo gli eventi terribili del film originale Jurassic Park. Vi ricordiamo che Jurassic World attualmente in fase di riprese è diretto dal regista Colin Trevorrow e uscirà al cinema negli USA il 12 Giugno 2015.
Colin Trevorrow ha scritto la sceneggiatura con Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall e Pat Crowley sono i produttori. Protagonisti della pellicola sono al momento confermati Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Andy Buckley e Irrfan Khan.
