Il Festival di Cannes 76 ha svelato il suo programma completo, e trai nomi collezionati da Thierry Frémaux spiccano i già annunciati Martin Scorsese e Wes Anderson, ma anche Wim Wenders, Kore-eda Hirokazu e Todd Haynes. Per quanto riguarda invece l’avventura italiana sulla croisette, quest’anno è il turno di Nanni Moretti, Marco Bellocchio e Alice Rohrwacher, tutti e tre in concorso.
Quando si guarda ai nomi in elenco, a seguire, il senso di déjà vu è familiare dal momento che effettivamente il Festival di Cannes ha dei nomi ai quali è affezionato, ricambiato, e questo contribuisce a creare quella sensazione di “club ristretto” dei grandi festival. Quest’anno, tuttavia, la Selezione Ufficiale ha fatto passi da gigante in termini di rappresentanza. Dopo essere stato criticato per non aver messo in evidenza le registe donne nella sua scaletta, Cannes 76 batterà il proprio record con sei film diretti da donne, tra cui La Chimera di Alice Rohrwacher, Club Zero di Jessica Hausner, Last Summer di Catherine Breillat e il documentario Olfa’s Daughters di Kaouther Ben Hania.
Come già annunciato, il film di apertura vedrà Johnny Depp sfilare sulla montée des marches per il suo grande ritorno al cinema, nel ruolo di Luigi XV in Jeanne du Barry della regista francese Maïwenn. Ecco di seguito la selezione ufficiale.
