Sono state annunciate le nomination per gli Independent Spirit Awards, gli Oscar del cinema indipendente americano. La cerimonia
di premiazione è prevista per il 23 febbraio 2013, pochi giorni prima di quella degli Oscar.
L’edizione 2012 fu dominata da The Artist; per il 2013, i titoli più ‘caldi’ sono Moonrise Kingdom, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, Bernie, Keep The Lights On e Silver Linings Playbook di David O’Russell, peraltro anche in odore di Oscar.
Il premio viene assegnato alle pellicole con un budget inferiore ai 20 milioni di dollari, il che esclude automaticamente dalla competizione i classici blockbuster che si contenderanno gli Oscar.
