L’embargo sulle recensioni del remake di Universal Pictures e Blumhouse dell’inquietante film horror danese Speak No Evil è scaduto oggi e il consenso della critica è (per lo più) molto positivo, anche se sembra che siano state apportate alcune modifiche significative all’implacabile e tetro originale.
Con 44 recensioni contate, il film si trova attualmente a un impressionante 88% su Rotten Tomatoes.
Il thriller, molto divertente, segue una famiglia americana che fa amicizia con un medico britannico apparentemente socievole (la star di X-Men: L’inizio James McAvoy), sua moglie e suo figlio durante una vacanza e accetta di andare a stare da loro per il weekend. In poco tempo, la facciata amichevole comincia a scivolare e diventa presto chiaro che qualcosa non va nella famiglia.
Le reazioni sono tutte piene di elogi per l’interpretazione di McAvoy e la maggior parte delle persone che hanno visto il film sembra ritenere che attenuare/alterare alcuni elementi dell’originale sia stata la mossa giusta per questo adattamento.
