Come c’era da aspettarsi, The King’s Speech trionfa ai BAFTA, gli ‘Oscar britannici’, che vedono però assegnare il premio alla migliore regia al Fincher di The Social Network, e non a Tom Hooper che invece ha visto premiati i suoi colleghi di set Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter e Goeffrey Rush.

Altri premiati sono stati la Portman per Il Cigno Nero e il fotografia de Il Grinta dei fratelli Coen.
