Triangle of Sadness, il nuovo attesissimo film di Ruben Östlund, ha ricevuto un’accoglienza trionfale alla première ufficiale di ieri al Théâtre Lumière di Cannes, con una interminabile standing ovation finale rivolta al regista e a tutto lo straordinario cast, Woody Harrelson in testa. Maestro della provocazione, Östlund ha ancora una volta sorpreso pubblico e critica con un film destinato a far discutere e che già viene considerato da molti come uno dei titoli favoriti per il palmarès.
Già vincitore della Palma d’Oro nel 2017 con The Square, in cui metteva alla berlina il mondo dell’arte contemporanea, il regista svedese firma una satira travolgente dove ruoli sociali e barriere di classe vanno in frantumi. Protagonisti del film sono una coppia di modelli, Carl e Yaya, invitati a partecipare a una crociera di lusso insieme a un bizzarro gruppo di nuovi ricchi. Tutto all’inizio sembra piacevole e “instagrammabile”, ma un evento catastrofico trasformerà il viaggio in un’avventura da incubo, in cui ogni gerarchia finirà per essere capovolta. Nel cast spiccano i nomi di Woody Harrelson, nei panni inusuali del comandante della nave con un debole per gli alcolici e Karl Marx, della modella e attrice sudafricana Charlbi Dean e dell’attore britannico Harris Dickinson. Triangle of Sadness sarà distribuito in Italia da Teodora Film.
