Mortal Kombat: uno dei membri del cast annuncia la fine delle riprese

Le riprese di Mortal Kombat sono ufficialmente terminate. Si tratta del nuovo adattamento cinematografico dell’omonima serie di videogiochi esplosa agli inizi degli anni ’90, che sarà distribuito dalla Warner Bros. e prodotto da James Wan, creatore della saga horror The Conjuring e regista di Aquaman.

Ad annunciare ufficialmente la fine delle riprese del reboot di Mortal Kombat è stato uno dei membri del cast, Lewis Tan, che nel film avrà un ruolo che non è stato ancora svelato. Tan è un attore, modello e artista marziale britannico, noto soprattutto per aver recitato nella serie Netflix Iron Fist, nella serie ABC Into the Badlands, nella serie netflix WU Assassins e in Deadpool 2 nei panni di Shatterstar.

Attraverso il suo account Instagram, Lewis Tan ha annunciato la fine delle riprese del film condividendo alcuni scatti inediti che lo ritraggono nel backstage. Nella didascalia che ha accompagnato le immagini, Tan ha ringraziato il cast e la crew del film, elogiando poi il lavoro del regista Simon McQuoid; l’attore ha anche sottolineato che ha amato trascorrere del tempo in Australia, dove il film è stato girato.

This year when I turned down 3 films and 2 TV shows to spend months reading for a huge film that eventually wasn’t for me, she was there texting me support daily, now she sittin in my chair watching me perform as I lead my first studio picture. La Warner Bros. ha confermato Joe Taslim (The Raid) come Sub-Zero, Ludi Lin nei panni del protagonista Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee (The Meg) come Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson nei panni di Kano, e ancora Tadanobu Asano (Thor: Ragnarok) sarà Raiden, Mehcad Brooks il Maggiore Jackson Bridges “Jax”, Max Huang sarà Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer interpreterà Mileena e come precedentemente annunciato Chin Han e Hiroyuki Sanada saranno rispettivamente Shang Tsung e Scorpion. Nel cast di personaggi ci saranno anche Sektor, Cyrax, Kabal e Nightwolf comparsi per la prima volta in Mortal Kombat 3. Mortal Kombat arriverà nei cinema il 5 marzo, 2021. Il regista di Aquaman, James Wan, produrrà Mortal Kombat con la sua etichetta Atomic Monster, mentre il regista di pubblicità Simon McQuoid farà il suo debutto nel lungometraggio. Todd Garner produrrà insieme a Larry Kasanoff, E. Bennett Walsh, Michael Clear e Sean Robins.
