Le nominations dei British Academy
Film Award sono state annunciate d Empire,oltre a pubblicare la
lista completa dei pretendenti ai premi, apre l’elenco con una
battuta: it’s a good day to be
strong, silent and French, ovvero è un bel giorno per essere
forti, silenziosi e Francesi! Il riferimento è ovviamente a The
Artist, il film che ha ricevuto 12 nomination, seguito dallo
straordinario La Talpa (11) e da Hugo Cabret fresco fresco di
Golden Globe alla migliore regia per Scorsese.
A seguire ecco My Week With Marilyn (6), War Horse e The Help (5) e infine Drive, The Iron Lady e Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte – Parte II entrambi con 4 nominations.
Ma i premi inglesi quasi sempre si distaccano da quelli che sono i premi, per così dire, americani, ed ecco che nell’elenco di nominati per la miglior sceneggiatura compaiono gli outsider Le Amiche della Sposa e Un Poliziotto da Happy Hour.
Anche se considerati premi ‘minori’ sempre però che quest’ano il vero scontro tra titani si sarà nell’ambito dei premi tecnici: Joe Letteri ad esempio concorrerà contro se stesso! Il supervisore degli effetti visivi è stato infatti candidato per Le Avventure di Tin TIn e per L’alba del Pianeta delle Scimmie, per cui divide la nomination con i colleghi Dan Lemmon, R. Christopher White. Ma soprattutto come si può scegliere un vincitore se a concorrere per il miglior Product Design sono Stuart Craig (Harry Potter) e Dante Ferretti (Hugo Cabret)?
La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 12 di febbraio a Londra, presso la Royal Opera House.
