In vista della cerimonia degli Oscar 2024, che si svolgerà il 10 marzo 2024, sono ora state annunciate la short list di 10 categorie. Come si potrà notare, Barbie ha avuto il maggior numero di menzioni, cinque, tra cui il suono, tre canzoni originali e la colonna sonora originale. Il film è però assente nella short list della categoria trucco e nelle acconciature, dove ci si aspettava invece di ritrovarlo.
Tra gli altri film che hanno avuto un buon riscontro figurano Killers of the Flower Moon, con quattro menzioni complessive tra cui quella per la canzone originale e Sociedad de la nieve, che potrebbe invece affermarsi come frontrunner per la categoria Miglior film internazionale. Proprio in quest’ultima spicca però anche la presenza di Io capitano, il film di Matteo Garrone che, se dovesse rientrare nella cinquina definitiva andrà a rappresentare l’Italia agli Oscar.
Altri film particolarmente presenti sono Napoleon, Oppenheimer, Povere creature!, Maestro e The Zone of Interest. Come riportato anche da Variety, le nomination agli Oscar 2024 saranno ora annunciate il 23 gennaio e a quel punto scopriremo chi di questi finalisti è riuscito ad ottenere l’effettiva nomination agli Oscar. La cerimonia, il 10 marzo, verrà poi come sempre trasmessa in diretta su Sky.
