Le nomination per i PGA 2024, i Producers Guild of America Awards 2024, sono state annunciate e a sorpresa comprendono due titoli internazionali: Anatomia di una caduta di Justine Triet e La Zona di Interesse di Jonathan Glazer – è la prima volta che due titoli internazionali sono stati nominati dalla gilda.

La line-up include molti dei soliti sospetti per i prossimi Oscar, a completare la lista ci sono American Fiction, Barbie, The Holdovers – Lezioni di vita, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives e Povere Creature!. Dopo essere stato escluso dalle nomination ai SAG, il distributore indipendente A24 è l’unico studio ad aver ottenuto due film nella categoria principale con Past Lives e La Zona di Interesse.

Per quanto riguarda la TV, Netflix è riuscita a primeggiare con serie di successo come Tutta la luce che non vediamo, The Crown e Beef, ottenendo riconoscimenti, mentre HBO Max ha avuto ottimi risultati con The Last of Us, Succession e il film per la televisione Reality.

Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures

Oppenheimer ha vinto il primo premio ai PGA 2024, ovvero il Producers Guild of America Awards. Il film di Christopher Nolan ha infatti vinto il Darryl F. Zanuck Award per il miglior produttore, un giorno dopo aver vinto il primo premio agli Screen Actors Guild Awards. Si tratta di un premio particolarmente importante, che di solito anticipa il vincitore del Premio Oscar al Miglior film, a cui Oppenheimer punta ora. Altri grandi vincitori sono stati Beef, che ha vinto anche ai SAG Awards e ai Film Independent Spirit Awards di domenica, insieme a Succession e The Bear, entrambi premiati ai SAG Awards di sabato.

Emma Thomas, produttrice di Oppenheimer, ha ritirato il premio sottolineando che, in una sala piena di produttori, “questo significa molto se viene da voi, questa sala è piena di persone di cui ammiriamo il lavoro“, aggiungendo: “Sapete quanto può essere difficile questo lavoro, ma sapete anche quanto può essere bello; è il miglior lavoro sul set“.
